ABOUT YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD AND OUR PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Calahonda is a lovely residential town in Mijas municipality, just west of picturesque Cabopino port and east of the popular town La Cala de Mijas.
Within walking distance from the townhouse, you will find many shops, cafés, a popular Mercadona supermarket, a beauty salon, a hairdresser, a fitness Gym, a bank, a pharmacy, and several boutiques.
During weekends you can visit some of the local markets - for local organic farm produce, as well as some artisanal accessories and souvenirs .
Crossing the road by a footbridge, just 350m from Oasis del Sol house, you’ll find yourself on the sandy beaches of Calahonda. There are plenty of beach cafes and restaurants, like El Capricho or Luna Beach chiringuitos.
Just a few minutes away is also Calahonda’s El Zoco commercial center with more restaurants and shops, as well as the Main Street of Calahonda - Avenida España - that’s very lively with many other bars, cafes and restaurants.
Within 20 minutes walk, you will also find many other fantastic restaurants, a shopping center and the fashionable beach club Max Beach, which also offers a frontline beach gym, pool, bar and 2 restaurants.
If you’re taking the car to explore bigger surrounding towns, it’s 15 minutes drive to the busy cities of Marbella and Fuengirola, a 20-minute drive to Puerto Banús, and 30 minutes to Malaga. There is so much to see and visit in each of these, something there for all the family, from old town centers and beautiful ports to museums, theatres, international shopping centers and entertainment.
Other cities with many attractions that you may wish to visit are for example Benalmadena (25 minutes drive) and Torremolinos (30 minutes drive).
Amongst many activities available on this side of the Coast, is Golf, with several Golf clubs within 5km radios - Miraflores Golf, Cabopino Golf and Calanova Golf.
You can also visit the wonderful white village of Mijas (30 minutes drive), where you have many fun and leisure options, including a Chocolate factory where you can enjoy a Master class on making artesanal chocolate, a miniature museum, restaurants and Gastro bars with stunning views from the top of the mountains, donkey rides, and so much more.
For Spa and relaxation, you can choose between many nearby hotel & Spa options, including La Cala Spa https://www.lacala.com/spa/, IPV Palace & Spa in Fuengirola, or Don Carlos Oasis Spa in Elviria.
Along the coastline, you have convenient boardwalks to take a pleasant afternoon walk towards the east or west of Calahonda.

Niche Secret Garden - Calahonda - located on the buzzing main Avenida España, enjoy its great dishes and a drink in one of the nearby bars afterwards
Luuma Beach- Elviria: beach restaurant and bar, international cuisine. Fantastic design, cocktails and duck tacos, as well as Salmon poke bowls
La Scala - Elviria: fantastic Italian restaurant with a beautiful interior and great service, try their homemade pastas and pizzas, especially truffle
